MICHAEL DWINELL is an oboist based in New York City. Recent performances include concerts with the Chelsea Symphony, Adelphi Orchestra, Roosevelt Island Chamber Orchestra, New York Chamber Players, New England Symphonic Ensemble, New Amsterdam Opera, the Riverside Orchestra, Mozart for Munchkins, and as part of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s 2019 Young Artist Series.
Previous credits include Broadway reviews at the Madison Theatre featuring Liz Calloway, Annie Golden, Howard McGillin, and many more, the South Shore Symphony’s concert production of Hit the Deck, Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton at Nokia Live and Honda Center, and the Hollywood Symphony’s Music in the Life of a Great City.
His playing can be heard on NAXOS and Toccata Classic Records labels in the award-winning recordings of Much Ado About Nothing, The Nutcracker, and Oklahoma!. He holds degrees in Oboe and Orchestral Conducting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and the Manhattan School of Music and is the founding oboist of Nu.
